While I mentioned how I enjoyed the first issue, I’m not going to lie, I really have no idea what the heck was going on or who the characters were.  It was like one big blur and what I remember the most is seeing two people, a woman, a man plus a robot kicking butt!

So, here we are with issue 2 of “Mike Grell Starslayer: The Director’s Cut” and we are introduced to a story that takes place back during the time of the Roman Empire and a Celtic warrior named Torin Mac Quillon who despises him.

Torin is a man who focused his life as a warrior, loved his wife Gwynyth and child but when it comes to warning people of her village about the Roman Empire, no one wanted to listen.

The village elder and everyone believes that by sharing trinkets with the Roman Empire, they will be ensured a peaceful alliance.

And sure enough, that warning by Torin becomes reality as the Roman Empire has arrived to conquer the British Isles, but Torin and his soldiers fought bravely right until the end.

With spears that would kill a man, Torin was whisked into the future and is revived.  But for what reason was he brought to the far distant future?

For the most part, it was good to get an origin story, so we know who one of the main characters are and it was a very cool introduction.  But I am looking forward to issue #3, because I want to know why this Celtic warrior was brought to the distant future?

An entertaining story that I definitely recommend!
