For the fourth issue of “Mike Grell’s Starslayer: The Director’s Cut”, the Celtic warrior named Torin Mac Quillon has agreed to work with Tamara to go to these destroyed sites to search for an amulet.

But first, he is given a upclose look at what happened to what was known as the Sun, which has become a cold red giant.  While Mercury was burned away by the first solar flare, Venus was also burned but the colonists were the first to invade the Earth but with the solar flares, the invaders were destroyed.

And as they look at the many spaceships destroyed, one ship appears to be intact and so Tamara and Torin go to the spaceship to check if an amulet is inside it.  But unbeknownst to them, there are Battledroids inside it.

Needless to say, this issue is Torin’s first taste of working with Tamara and how driven she is of obtaining the amulet, but also taking on a Battledroid.

Torin doesn’t understand why Tamara would risk her life for this amulet and she explains that by finding it, it could save billions of lives.  And she makes a point to him that she will gladly sacrifice her or Torin’s life for a piece of it.

But now that the Battledroid is on the hunt for the two, will Torin be ready to fight his first opponent in space?

So far, the story of “Starslayer” is rather fascinating.  But as I get hooked on this comic ala Mike Grell’s “Director’s Cut” of “Starslayer”, unfortunately there are only four issues left.  So, really the only way one will find out what happens is probably by obtaining the 34 original Pacific Comics/First Comics releases from 1982-1985 but in 2023, that’s going to be tough finding a complete set.
