“Dark Dominion” is set in Manhattan and the city is where there is dark and light and for Michael Alexander, he is able to turn into light and enter an alternate world occupied by demons manifested by the fears of humans.

Michael Alexander is the author of a book titled “Dark Dominion” and in the first issue, he meets with Mercy, a homeless woman who happens to know about the alternate world somehow. She takes him to a dark area and are attacked by a monster and turns to light and defeats it. But this time around, he sees the woman who was looking at him and she is taken by monsters.

But both were captured by Chasm, a being that can turn to light but works with the monsters and has made Manhattan his home because of the fear of the people he can tap into.

In this issue, Chasm and his men throw Michael into a pit where many humans are tortured and only homeless, rats and demons occupy below.

For the most part, the descent into the bowels of Manhattan gives Michael an understanding of what is down there and how he can find his friend Mercy.

We see Michael taking on demons but he also sees how demons are manipulating those in fear down below. But also learning how powerful Chasm really is.

For the most part, it’s an interesting story but too far to tell what direction it is going to. If anything, we have a story of a man with the power of light that can help people, but also a destructive power that must be controlled.

A good story for the most part and I’m looking forward to reading more.
