I’ll remember this comic book issue for two things, one, X-Factor and Grey Hulk part 2.  Two, Tom Defalco was listed as Editor-in-Chief and not Jim Shooter.  Whoah!

No need to rehash but those were my thoughts as a young teen who loved reading comic books.

With issue 337 of “The Incredible Hulk”, thanks to Iceman’s instability, X-Terminators (X-Factor) managed to encase the Grey Hulk in ice and the group called in S.H.I.E.L.D. and who sends Clay Quartermaine to finally do the job and kill the Hulk.

But Quartermaine is having second thoughts because he feel it’s a dirty job, meanwhile Iceman who is supposed to reinforce the ice, also doesn’t like the idea of keeping Hulk/Banner encased.

Hulk manages to break free but the X-Terminators, S.H.I.E.L.D. and Samson manage to capture him once again, but Grey Hulk reveals that the government is experimenting on Gamma Bombs and met Half-Life (issue #334) who was a result from that.

As the X-Terminators want to know what S.H.I.E.L.D. plans to do with the Hulk, not liking that, S.H.I.E.L.D. has their guns trained on the X-Terminators.

Shocked by all this, Samson starts destroying things and the X-Terminators and Samson start taking on S.H.I.E.L.D. in order to help the Grey Hulk escape.  They find out they have a new ally with Clay Quartermaine and as the X-Terminators part ways, where will Quartermaine, Rick Jones and Bruce Banner head out to next?

Overall, it was an enjoyable, action-packed storyline and a fitting conclusion for this two-part issue.
