After Daredevil’s battle with the incredible Hulk, suffice to say that Daredevil was beaten to a pulp and has been hospitalized.
As the Avengers, Fantastic Four, Power Man and Iron Fist and Black Widow come to visit him, Daredevil eventually recovers in the hospital.
But coming into the hospital room is reporter Ben Urich of the Daily Bugle who tries to get alone time with Daredevil.
While the nurse and Black Widow tell him to leave, Daredevil convinces them to let Ben come in and have alone time to talk.
Ben’s research reveals that he knows Daredevil’s true identity and that he is Matt Murdoch.
This leads to Matt admitting to Urich that he is Daredevil and then giving him his story of how he became Daredevil and his connection to Battlin’ Jack Murdoch and how his father was murdered and what led him to go after his father’s murderer and eventually becoming Daredevil.
This newfound respect between Matt and Urich would play a big part in the future as Urich’s character would become important, not just to Daredevil but also Spider-Man and the Punisher.
It’s actually a very good story as we get to see Matt in his childhood but also how much his father did everything for his son. But for the most part, it’s a wonderful collaboration between Roger McKenzie and Frank Miller.
