TITLE: Fantastic Four vol. 1, Issue #59

YEAR: February 1967

COMPANY: Marvel Comics

Written by Stan Lee

In issue #58, Dr. Doom has stolen the Silver Surfer’s cosmic powers and now has control of the Silver Surfer’s surfboard and for several months, we have seen Johnny Storm trying to save his girlfriend Krystal, an Inhuman, who has been kept imprisoned courtesy of the brother of Blackbolt (the leader of the Inhumans), Maximus.

So, here we are with issue #59, after the Fantastic Four are beaten by the powerful Dr. Doom, Reed is now doing all he can to use his ultimate intellect in trying to find ways of defeating the powerful Dr. Doom and as for the Inhumans, Black Bolt is going to make a major decision.

With this latest issue, Reed has become obsessed in trying to find a way to beat Dr. Doom and it’s no surprise because Dr. Doom is using Silver Surfer’s Comic Powers and changing the DNA structure of animals to become monsters, making a warm day freezing cold and a sunny day to darkness for 24 hours.

As Reed tries to find a way on how to defeat Dr. Doom, the Inhumans leader, Blackbolt has had enough and uses his power in full force to destroy the Negative Zone and it’s barrier which Maximus has created.  But will it succeed?  And what decision will he make that will change the way the Inhumans live?

Overall, this issue is no doubt setting things up for a major clash between the Fantastic Four vs. Dr. Doom but how does the Inhumans fit into all this?

We’ll have to wait until issue #60, which I will write about soon!
