With the awesome first issue introducing readers to Angelica Jones, we started to see her manifesting her powers.

Unable to control them, the question is who will get to her first and become her mentor?  Professor X or the White Witch?

And sure enough, the White Witch got to her first and convinced her that she would be taken care of and become a team to fight the evil X-Men.

Unfortunately, just like high school, the White Witch is strict with Angelica Jones and won’t allow her to associate with the other mutants, making her think that her powers are too unstable that she may hurt them.

Keeping this all to herself, unfortunately, telling her fellow mutants that she can’t go out with them, no one wants to associate with her and think she is stuck up and so, once again, she feels alone.

While working hard to learn how to control her powers, Angelica learns how to burn things and fly but she doesn’t know how bad of a person Emma Frost (the White Witch) is.

Meanwhile, Emma Frost is hosting a dance at her Massachusetts Academy and has invited the New Mutants.  Because her students and Professor X’s students will be there, they don’t think anything bad will happen.

And as Angelica gets Emma’s OK to go to the dance, she and Sam Guthrie (Cannonball of the New Mutants) get close and start kissing each other.  But immediately, Emma Frost uses her mental telepathy and gets angry at Angelica and tells her that she can hurt Sam.

Running away from Sam, she runs into the stable to visit her favorite horse Butter Rum, but the White Witch has cleverly set things up to make Angelica Jones think she’s a threat to mankind.

Definitely an interesting storyline, especially to see her and Cannonball hook up.  While I’m not surprise to see the White Witch being so evil and manipulating Angelica, it’s going to be interesting to see how broken she is in issue #3.
