In issue #55, Reed and Sue Richards are taking off to continue their honeymoon, while the Thing plans to visit Alicia.

One of the people who also wants to visit Alicia is the Silver Surfer, who is literally forced to stay on Earth because he tried to protect the humans from his master, Galactus.

As Silver Surfer has seen the worse of humanity, he wanted to talk to Alicia but unfortunately arriving moments later is the the Thing.

Suffice to say, the jealous Thing goes off on Silver Surfer, while his girlfriend Alicia tells him to stop.

So enraged, the Thing can’t think and just wants to fight with the Silver Surfer, who doesn’t understand why a friend would attack him.

Meanwhile, in the Himalayas, Johnny Storm and Wyatt Wingfoot are trying to find out why the people in the region are so scared and that is when they discover Crystal’s dog, Lockjaw, who has found a way to teleport outside of their prison.

As The Thing and the Silver Surfer keep fighting, the fight is stopped after Alicia makes an urgent call to Reed and Sue.

And probably one of the few times where you will see Reed really go off on his buddy, Benjamin Grimm for starting a fight against the Silver Surfer.

While this issue was a cool battle between The Thing and the Silver Surfer, the Silver Surfer didn’t use hardly any of his power, if anything, he tried to match the Thing’s power, to not hurt him.

Nevertheless, a cool battle and one of the few early appearances featuring The Silver Surfer on the pages of “The Fantastic Four”.
