Christine Spar’s son Anson was kidnapped and she suspects that the one responsible is the kabuki actor, Tujiro.

She travels to San Francisco where the kabuki troupe are performing, desperate to find her son.

Needing to find an in to get close to Tujiro, fortunately she meets the stage manager, Brian Li Sung and begins to investigate and follow Tujiro and his men.

Meanwhile, her best friend Ginny (Regina Anastasi) has been trying to contact her as the police are looking for her.  What Ginny doesn’t know is that the police are looking for Christine and even bugged Ginny’s phone.

Meanwhile, Grendel’s longtime nemesis Argent the Wolf suspects Christine has become Grendel.

As Christine dons the Grendel mask for the first time, she sneaks into the apartment of Tujiro and what she discovers is a shocker!

Needless to say, the events that transpire sets off this story arc of Christine/Grendel wanting to exact revenge and also establishing how COMICO’s “Grendel” is different from Marvel and DC Comics by showcasing violence (and of course, COMICO not having to adhere to the Comic Book Authority Code).

Overall, another captivating issue of Matt Wagner’s “Grendel”, I can’t wait for issue #3!
