With Captain Marvel coming to the Marvel Cinematic Universe and really enjoying “The Avengers: Infinity War”, I heard there is a possibility that “Secret Invasion” may be featured in the near future.

As “Captain Marvel”/”Ms. Marvel” comic books have featured the never-ending war between the Kree vs. Skrull, and having had an interest over the years of reading comic books, I figured that I wanted to read a few of the “Secret Invasion” comics and why not check out a “Ms. Marvel” Secret Invasion storyline featuring Carol Danvers.

To sum things up, the Skrull invaded Earth and many Skrulls are impersonating Ms. Marvel (Carol Danvers) and in issue 27, Ms. Marvel and team managed to capture a Skrull.

And as she tries to get answers of what happened to her boyfriend, William Wagner, they get a tip from the Skurll that he is in a truck being transported.

As Ms. Marvel, Agent Sum, Sleepwalker and Machine Man go to investigate a  big rig, the big rig turned out to be a holographic image.

Tricked and upset, Ms. Marvel confronts the female Skrull who laughs and gives her a message and blows herself up inside the S.H.I.E.L.D. carrier, leaving many dead and injured.

Ms. Marvel is upset that this has happened in her watch and distressed and frustrated, she ends up going to Simon (Wonder Man) and Simon listening to her release her stress, she ends up kissing him and the two…you know do this and that.

It’s an interesting storyline, to see Ms. Marvel put in a situation where the Skrulls get to her psyche by hurting those close to her.

And it’s working.

A lot of death and destruction in this issue as one can expect but the Carol Danvers/Simon (Wonder Man) one night stand, I found that a bit interesting and unexpected.

Overall, an interesting story and I’m looking forward to reading issue #28 next!
