I have been reading the recent “Batman” issues and with issue #45, we have Booster Gold coming to ask for assistance from Batman and Catwoman to go on a time-traveling mission to rescue…Booster Gold!
Confusing isn’t it? Well, a younger Booster Gold has gone back in time to kidnap his younger self and to rescue his own past, ooster must pursue both of his previous incarnations through Batman’s history.
Confusing? Yeah, kind of.
In issue #46, Booster Gold has come to Arkham Asylum to break Catwoman. Problem is that Booster Gold doesn’t realize that whatever reality he is in, the Catwoman he released is a serial killer version. She doesn’t speak but say “Meeeow” and the Batman in this world is evil.
And in this world, Bruce Wayne’s parents are still alive. Jason Todd is the CEO of “Todd-Tire-Taze”, car security device blamed on the death of 16 children who died by touching the tires.
As for Bruce, his father is stressed about Gotham becoming a war zone for monsters and he has a heart attack.
And because of Booster Gold’s actions, let’s say that something terrible happens to the Wayne family.
It’s an interesting alternate world and with this story arc, it’s interesting to read about this parallel world and Booster Gold, wanting to make Batman/Bruce Wayne happy, he tries to bring Catwoman from another world back to the present. But the version of Selina that he has found happens to be a homicidal maniac.
Overall, a fascinating, bloody and violent “Batman” story.
