BATMAN is created by BOB KANE with BILL FINGER

Several years ago, the character Duke Thomas was introduced as a vigilante and a member of the Batman family, but prior to that, he was part of the “We Are Robin” movement.

First introduced in “Batman” vol. 2, issue #21, Batman would eventually offer Duke to become his protege and Duke would agree as long as he did not become just another Robin. And eventually would undergo training via the Cursed Wheel program.

In “Dark Nights: Metal”, the series would introduce a new group of metahumans and Tuke would be revealed as a metahuman with powers that he is unsure of himself.

This leads us to a 3-part mini-series titled “Batman and the Signal”, Duke now sporting the yellow and black costume that Batman made for him but most importantly, the duty that Batman would give him and becoming a hero during the day and investigating a string of meta-human activity.

Being a meta-human himself, it gives Duke a chance to learn his own kinetic powers including his power of retrocognition and precognition.

And going by the name “The Signal”.

So far the series introduces readers to Duke Thomas, a little of his powers but also discovering others who are meta-humans and the task that Bruce/Batman has given him and as Batman is known for his work at night, the Signal would use his skills during the day.

So far a really fascinating issue and will no doubt have to check out the next two issues!
