With the story surrounding the Hulkverine continuing in issue #9 of “Weapon X”, Logan has called in the All-New Wolverine (X-23) to assist them in finding Hulkverine.
Logan explains that Reverend Stryke recruited the man, a scientist named Alba experimented on him and injected him adamantium and he wants to see if they can get to him by talking.
And as the four including Warpath go to search for Hulkverine, the scientist Alba has found the mysterious man at a classified Eaglestar Safehouse.
It is revealed that the man who became Hulkverine is a former Eaglestar who turned on his own people when they tried to massacre villagers in Ujanka. So, he was sold to Reverend Stryker and experimented on.
As Reverend Stryker waits outside waiting for Alba and Hulkverine to come out, Alba tells him where Stryker is. Stryker sends out a large army of adamantium robots to take them.
Which side will be victorious?
As mentioned in my review for issue #8, “Weapon X” is a much more entertaining storyline compared to the “Weapons of Mutant Destruction” arc now that the storyline focuses on the Weapon X characters. No more whining from Amadeus Cho (which I felt weakened my liking to the storyline arc) and just the Weapon X team taking on Hulkverine or on his trail to get some answers.
A solid story so far from Greg Pak and Fred Van Lente and awesome artwork by Mark Borstel and Ibraim Roberson!
An entertaining issue worth reading!
